A large and well-known organisation

Jeugdzorg Emmaüs is a well-established organisation offering a wide range of youth care services. Employing 562 staff members, 105 volunteers, 85 student workers and 83 interns, Jeugdzorg Emmaüs is one of the largest youth care organisations in the province of Antwerp.

 

Mobile, outpatient & residential support

We provide mobile, outpatient and residential support for children and young people (and their families/social context) between 0 and 25. We support both children and young people who grow up in problematic homes and young people who have committed an offence. Our working area covers the regions of Antwerp and Mechelen.

 

Intersectoral collaborations

We are a dynamic organisation that is always looking ahead and reinventing itself. We provide plenty of room for dialogue, personal input and collaboration, because we believe that together we can achieve more.

In order to provide the most qualitative care for each child and youngster, Jeugdzorg Emmaüs strongly invests in intersectoral collaboration. We collaborate with a myriad of professionals from different sectors: schools, youth work, mental health care, foster care and so on.

 

An equal dialogue between research and practice

Our daily practice is underpinned by both scientific research and knowledge of our employees and clients. To foster the permanent exchange within an equal dialogue of these voices, Jeugdzorg Emmaüs has established an Academic Collaborative Centre. The crossing of these different forms of knowledge, is a strength of our organisation. Research is used to support practice and to facilitate processes of learning and growth.

 

Growth and internationalisation

Our employees have the opportunity to grow professionally by means of a range of training opportunities in our own training centre, Prakticum.

The international dimension in both our practice, research and trainings has gained significant importance for the last years.
